Falassarna

The wonderful beach of Falassarna is one of the most famous beaches in Greece which is situated 59km on the west of Chania and is 17km west of Kissamos. When arriving you cant help but notice the white sand and clear blue waters making this beach feel like a tropical paradise. One of the main beaches in Falassarna, Pacheia ammos which means ''coarse sands'' has the length of 1km and the width of 150m. This beach is most popular with the visitors of the area as it never seems crowded due to the length. There are also a number of snack bars and cafes where you can get food and refreshments. In addition you can do water sports and has a volley court for those who wish to do some beach activities. There are also some smaller beaches which are divided in half by sand dunes and a few rocks. These beaches are more quiet and offer no facilities. Nearby there is a chapel of Agia Paraskevi with a fresh water spring where the water is potable. When travelling further more north near the archaeological site , there is a small cove facing south. This is pebbly and the sea bed is rocky. The area around Falassarna is spectacular if you are looking for a romantic place. You must watch the sunset as it falls between the beach and the horizon. Falassarna is a magical place and offers everything for everyone.
